It's OK to Walk Away

"Anger can steer them,
or they can steer anger!"

A presentation about conflict resolution.

"A great way to handle a tough subject."
- Attendee, Michigan PTA Convention

Richard Paul has talked with many social workers in schools throughout the Midwest and has completed much research to develop a program that gives a valuable lesson on how to avoid and, when necessary, peacefully resolve, conflict.

child self-esteemWith the help of some funny and unusual puppets, plus personal stories and audience involvement, Richard demonstrates how to turn misunderstanding into understanding. He explains how anger is one of the key ingredients when it comes to conflict between people. He helps students see that frustration is nothing more than a self-made emotion. Through humor, Richard gives them three useful tips to releasing tension when confronted with an uncomfortable situation or problem.

Richard also shows how to improve "self-talk (the way a person communicates with oneself) that statistically helps reduce inner and outer miscommunication and creates a greater acceptance of themselves and others.

"Richard's ventriloquism was excellent and helped keep the children
interested in the message."

- Richmond Elementary School

This program is designed for students from kindergarten to 8th grades and can be easily structured to fit with various themes and school policies. Richard also provides an outline that teachers can print and use as a reminder to students throughout the school year.
